ALBAWABA - Since the start of the Israeli aggressive attacks on the Gaza Strip, pro-Palestinian activists condemned the United States and the West's double standards on the war.
Heading back to 2022 when Russia announced the invasion of Ukraine, the U.S. and its allies rushed to condemn the Russian war on Kyiv and accused Russia of committing war crimes in Ukraine.
Furthermore, the U.S. and the West rapidly imposed harsh economic and political sanctions on President Vladimir Putin, Russian officials and businessmen. In addition to the great amount of military aid sent by these countries to Kyiv to use to defend itself against Russian attacks.
On the other hand, when Israel announced war on the Hamas military group on Oct. 7, following Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades' Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel, the U.S. government and the West described it as a "self-defense" move.
Among the countries that justified Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip are the U.S., the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Canada.
The six countries released a joint statement that read: "The leaders reiterated their support for Israel and its right to defend itself against terrorism and called for adherence to international humanitarian law, including the protection of civilians," the Anadolu Agency reported.

Death toll in Ukraine and Gaza:
Taking into consideration the difference between the length of the two wars in Ukraine and Gaza; the Ukraine war started on Feb. 24, 2022 (1 year, 8 months) while the Israeli attacks on Gaza began on Oct. 7, 2023 (27 days), Russia's war on Ukraine left less death toll comparing to the Gaza war.
The Gaza Ministry of Health reported as of Nov. 1st, at least 8,796 people were killed in Israeli aggressive airstrikes on Gaza, 3,648 of whom are children.
On the other hand, a report by the United Nations revealed that around 10,000 have been killed since the conflict began in February 2022, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine said on Oct. 4, 2023.
Furthermore, kids' deaths in the Israeli attacks on Gaza are much more compared to children killed in the Ukraine war; over 500 kids were killed in Russian attacks on Ukraine, meanwhile, 3,648 children were killed in Israeli attacks.
