PepsiCo Jordan sponsors 5th Zaha Football Tournament for children

Based on its commitment to ensuring that the Kingdom’s children receive a happy and healthy childhood, PepsiCo Jordan - winner of the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence/Private Sector - announced its sponsorship of the 5th Zaha Football Tournament taking place between 4th and 20th April 2011 for children aged 7-13 years at the Zaha Cultural Center football field.
A total of 32 teams from a number of Jordan’s schools and clubs will be participating in the tournament, organized under the umbrella of the Zaha Center Interactive Program, aimed at creating a promising future for children and developing their personalities.
Sufian Al Salman, PepsiCo East Med and Africa HR Director, stated that the Company’s sponsorship of the Zaha Football Tournament for Children corresponds with PepsiCo’s strategy of encouraging sports as an important component of a healthy childhood. “We strive to support initiatives that target children, who are the foundation of our society, in order to contribute to social development,” he added.
In turn, Rania Subieh, Director of the Zaha Cultural Center, thanked PepsiCo-Jordan for its generous gesture, saying that the sponsorship will help achieve the Center’s vision and mission of creating an environment for children that fosters “a pure childhood for a promising future.” By targeting children’s needs through various programs and activities, Subieh said, Jordan will have a physically, mentally and psychologically sound generation.
