Samsung Apps releases new billing payment method in the UAE

Samsung Electronics, a global leader in consumer electronics, today announced a new payment method for its UAE customers for Samsung Apps, its mobile application store. With the new payment method, customers can now download applications from Samsung Apps and charge the payment to their credit card. The addition of this new simple and secure payment method provides customers convenience and flexibility while allowing them to optimize their Samsung Apps experience.

“At Samsung Apps we’re committed to doing all we can to provide our customers with an enhanced user experience and the new payment method will offer the UAE customers choice, flexibility and ultimately a simpler purchase journey,” said Ashraf Fawakherji, General Manager of Samsung Gulf Electronics Telecommunication Group. “Following the launch in UAE, we plan to expand the new payment option to other Gulf countries later in the year,” he added.

Providing over 15,000 applications in 120 countries, Samsung Apps has continued to prove its success by achieving 10 million downloads in its first three months. It went on to achieve another milestone in March 2010 by skyrocketing to 100 million downloads in ten months after its launch. In Europe & the US, consumers can purchase apps through prepaid cards, credit cards and cyber cash.
