Iran’s Army Day celebrated 18 April each year to show the country’s prowess in military armaments. This year is no different for Iran seeks to display her military technology in face of rivals such as Saudi Arabia and to show her presence in the region, foremost in Syria and in the backing of different Shiite militias in Lebanon, Iraq and backing the Houthis in Yemen. In attendance was Iranian president Hassan Rohani and Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mohammad Hussein Baqri. Newest technological equipments are on display such as the Kamin 2 and Sera 1 missile systems, radar systems, rapid reaction command and control systems, S-300 and S-200 missiles as well tanks, armoured vehicles and sniper rifles
