ALBAWABA - Aleppo in devastation after last week's mega earthquakes that hit south Turkey and northern Syria. Aleppo was just one of the Syria cities to take a battering with many killed, houses destroyed and infrastructure, and/or what's left of it, devastated. UN officials have been visiting the city recently. The United Nations says the disaster may have left up to 5.3 million people homeless in Syria, including 200,000 people in Aleppo alone.
ALBAWABA - A devastating earthquake has struck southern Turkey, in the early hours of Monday morning it was deadly in its intensity, felt in many Middle East countries including Syria with its own rising death toll and destruction, Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine and Israel. The quake had a magnitude of over 7.4 percent that struck in the southern province of Kahramanmaras with 78 aftershocks according to Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

ALBAWABA - In a dramatic turn of events the supporters of ex-president Jair Bolsonaro stormed the Brazilian Congress, the Planalto Presidential Palace in Brasilia and the Supreme Court, Sunday, in protests against President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's inauguration last week. Hundreds of supporters of the far-right former president clashed with police who were trying to barricade the complex.

ALBAWABA - Jordan holds the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership in the Dead Sea.
