Algerian gymnasts Mohamed Abdeldjalil Bourguieg and Mohamed Raghib snatched three (03) gold medals at the end of the fourth and last day of the African championship juniors and seniors played Saturday, at the Mohamed Boudiaf Olympic Complex allowing Algeria to finish second in the overall ranking, which is dominated by Egypt.

Bourguieg, who already won the general team competition on the ground, snatched two new gold medals after winning, Saturday, the parallel bars competition and the vaults. The Algerian champion qualified for the Olympic Games 2016 also won the bronze medal in the horizontal bar.

“I am very happy with my performances in this African championship. I was able to exceed my goals by winning four gold medals, including those in the parallel bars, which I was not expecting,” Bourguieg told APS.

For his side, Mohamed Raghib won on the horizontal bar in a competition that has been dominated by the two Egyptians Islam Al Sayad and Ahmed Almaghry.

On the overall medals count, Algeria finishes second with a total of 21 medals (12 gold, 4 silver, 5 bronze), behind Egypt, with 37 medals (18 gold, 11 silver, 8 bronze).
