Algerian boxer Abdelkader Chadi (64 Kg) booked his berth to Rio Olympics Games 2016, thanks to his ranking in the PDB (AIBA pro-boxing), said Tuesday the Algerian boxing Federation (FAB).

In a letter to the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee, the International Boxing Association (AIBA) has informed that Chadi, ranked 2nd in APB ranking qualified for the Olympics-2016.

Chadi is the first Algerian boxer to have secured his qualification ticket to the Olympics in Rio.

African champion in 2015 in Casablanca (Morocco) and gold winner at the All Africa Games in Brazzaville (Congo) in 2015, Chadi will be the first Algerian boxer to make three appearances in the Olympic Games, after the 2012 in London and 2008 in Beijing.

"I am very happy. This qualification will motivate me more to decently represent Algeria," Chadi told APS.
