Aspire Zone hosted yesterday the first training session of Bayern Munich's winter camp, with a heavy presence from football fans and local media outlets.
The camp will conclude on January 11 and is part of the club's preparations for the second half of the season. Team coach Carlo Ancelotti held a press conference after the session to discuss the teams preparations for the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
Aspire Zone Foundation communications manager Hussain Ali Al Qahtani said on the sidelines of the press conference that they were delighted to host Bayern for the sixth consecutive year. He added that the fans reception of the team in Hamad International Airport reflected the passion the Qatari society has for football. He said that there were many factors that propels teams to choose Aspire Zone as a destination for their training camps due to high international standards available and the perfect weather conditions.
In the press conference, Ancelotti said that he can sense Qatar's development with each passing year and with each visit. He said the weather was fantastic and the sports facilities were first class, which were the perfect combination for a good training camp.
All the team's star players attended the first training session, including the German contingent which player a part in winning World Cup 2014. Some of the star players available were Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller, Philip Lahm, Franck Ribery, Thiago Alcantara and Xabi Alonso.
