CAN 2017 preparation: Algeria to play Mauritania on January 7 in Blida

The Algerian national football team will take on their Mauritanian counterpart on January 7th in Mustapha-Tchaker stadium in Blida at 5 pm (local time).

This match will be the team’s first friendly match as part of the preparations for the 2017 African Cup of Nations (CAN) in Gabon, from 14 January to 5 February.

The Algerian Football Association (FAF), which announced the match on its official website, did not mention the second friendly encounter.

On January 2nd, the Desert Foxes will hold training camp for the CAN, at the Sidi-Moussa Technical Center of in Algiers. Their departure to Gabon is scheduled for Jan. 12th.

At the CAN, the men of Belgian coach George Leekens, who has yet to reveal a list of 23 players, will play in Group B with Zimbabwe, Tunisia and Senegal.
