Iran’s weightlifting national squad has snatched 10 medals in Asian Weightlifting Championships to stand only next to China the champions.
Tashkent hosted the competitions where 30 national squads competed for colorful medals. Iran’s relatively young weightlifters surprised the expectations, as the report of National Weightlifting Federation report rejoiced to announce by its Public Relations office on Saturday evening, to came only second to China, improving last September third position in tight competition with hosting Uzbekistan, who came third.
Iran collected 500 total points with snatching 10 gold, silver, and bronze medals in different weight categories. In the 46th edition of the event China stood in the first place with 506 points and hosting Uzbeks came third with 463 points.
For Iran, Seyed Ayoub Mousavi snatched two silvers in 85kg category, Ali Hashemi won 2 silvers and a single bronze in 94kg category, Mohammad Reza Barari brilliantly snatched two golds and a bronze in 105kg category, and Bahador Mowlaei won a gold and a silver in +105kg category.
