Iraq on Friday beat Yemen 3-0 qualifying to semi finals of the Gulf-23 soccer competitions. The two teams are in Group B of the ongoing Gulf Cup.

Iraq is the number-one qualifier for the Gulf Cup semifinals having bagged up to seven points in Group B, followed by Bahrain with five points, which will also play in the next round of the ongoing competition.

The Iraqi team came on top of the group after playing a draw match with Bahrain, beating Qatar and Yemen. Bahrain came second in the group after equalizing with Iraq, defeating Yemen and drawing with Qatar.

The Qataris came third with four points after beating Yemen and losing the encounter with Iraq and equalizing with Bahrain. Yemen ended up at the bottom of the list, with no points.

Next week, Iraq will play against the UAE, the second in Group A, and Bahrain will play against Oman, the number one in Group A. The games are scheduled on Tuesday.
