Kuwait's National Basketball team lost its second match in the 28th FIBA Asia Championship against Palestine 69-90 on Thursday.

The match started out with a strong performance by the Palestinian team, whose players were successful in scoring three point goals during majority of quarters, while the Kuwaiti team tried to keep up with its competitor and showed promising attempts to tie the score during first and second quarters of the match before the Palestinian team took full control in rest of quarters.

Khalil Taher, head of the Kuwaiti administrative team, told KUNA that the team members have done their best, despite the defeat.

"We could not provide the players with the appropriate training camps to improve their overall physical fitness," Taher added.

The weak preparation and unavailability of competitive tune-up matches for the team have eliminated harmony among the players, who could not get accustomed to the atmospheres of international events yet, Khaled Al-Qallaf, the team's coach, told KUNA, expressing his confidence in his team's abilities to perform better in rest of the tourney's matches.

The 2015 FIBA Asia Championship for Men will be the 28th continental basketball championship in Asia.

The winner of the tournament qualifies for the Basketball tournament in the 2016 Summer Olympics, while the 2nd, 3rd and 4th placers will go under the FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament, as stated by FIBA and the IOC in qualification quota.
