Egypt centre-back Ahmed Hegazi is being targeted by Premier League clubs Liverpool and Leicester City, sources revealed to ESPN FC Tuesday.
The 26-year-old Ahly star, who is on a loan deal with West Bromwich Albion this season, proved his worth with eye-catching displays lately.
"Liverpool are planning to bolster their defensive options and sources close to Ahly said they have been watching Hegazi and asked about the Egypt international," ESPN reported.
"Sources said Leicester were also monitoring Hegazi, with head of recruitment Eduardo Macia having worked with him at Fiorentina, where he was technical director," ESPN added.
West Brom have the option to sign Hegazi, who scored one goal in 14 league appearnces so far this season, permenantly at the end of the season for €5 million.
West Bromwich currently lie at the 16th place at the Premiere League table with 12 points, 25 behind leaders Manchester City. Liverpool are the sixth with 23 points, while Leicester come ninth with 17 points.
