Manchester City could submit a bid to sign Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella in the January market.
The Daily Star says the Premier League champions see the Italy international as cover for Rodri, who has been ruled out until the end of the current season due to knee injury.
City boss Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the 27-year-old, who became a club sensation following his arrival from Cagliari in 2019.
Barella could be sold in January if the Cityzens are willing to pay the £75 million that Inter are demanding.
The midfielder scored 23 goals and provided 52 assists in 240 appearances for the Serie A giants across all competitions.
