Man Utd v Everton: Preview and projected lineups

Published December 4th, 2013 - 12:12 GMT

Manchester United and Everton are both undefeated in their last six matches and will both be looking for a means to take all three points from their mid-week clash at Old Trafford.

It will be the first time that David Moyes has faced his old club since leaving the blue side of Merseyside to take the place of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Roberto Martinez will be keen to prove that his side is worthy of being above the Red Devils in the table as they currently sit fifth and United eighth in the Premier League table.

Both sides have serious injuries to key players as the home side are without Michael Carrick with Robin Van Persie day-to-day and Everton are most notably without England International Leighton Baines.

United are undefeated in 27 of their last 30 meetings with Everton in all competitions while keeper David De Gea has kept five clean sheets in the last six matches.

United XI: De Gea; Smalling, Vidic, Evans, Evra; Cleverly, Fellaini; Valencia, Kagawa, Welbeck; Rooney.

Everton XI: Howard; Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Oviedo; McCarthy, Barry; Mirallas, Barkley, Pienaar; Lukaku.
