Liverpool players will help Mohamed Salah score more goals following the Egyptian winger's explosive start to the season, his teammate Sadio Mane said on Tuesday.

Speaking before Liverpool's European Champions League game against Spartak Moscow on Wednesday, Senegalese international Mane said Salah is a "very important player for the team".

The former Chelsea man, who joined Liverpool from AS Roma last summer, is the Premier League's top scorer with 12 goals in 15 appearances, marking the best ever start for a Liverpool arrival.

Salah scored twice in a 3-0 Premier League rout of Stoke City last week, with the first coming from an inviting cross from Mane.

"I am happy for Mo because he is doing well, he is a very important player for us and I'm happy for him to score," Mane said in an interview with Liverpool's official website.

"We're going to try to help him to score more goals and also for us to make assists and score more goals [ourselves]."
