Liverpool's Mohamed Salah has an 'uncertain' status ahead of Egypt's' World Cup opener against Uruguay.

"Everything looks good. His condition is comfortable, but playing against Uruguay is uncertain," Egypt team doctor Mohamed Abou El-Ela said in a statement, according to Goal.com and Fox Sports.

"We'll take our decision after two days as everything will be clear. Our goal is to keep him safe and he will play if he's 100 percent fit."

Salah suffered a shoulder injury in the Champions League final after getting tangled up with Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos on May 26 in Kiev, Ukraine. He hasn't played since.

"The President was reassured on the health condition of the player 'Mohamed Salah', who affirmed that his condition is improving notably and that he is on his way to recovery, god willing," presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said Saturday.

Salah scored 44 goals for Liverpool this season. He has undergone treatment in Spain ahead of Egypt's World Cup opener. That match comes against Uruguay in the group stage at 8 a.m. Friday at Ekaterinburg Arena in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

The Egyptian star said Saturday that he feels he can suit up against Uruguay.

"I am feeling better now; I feel that I can participate in the first game," Salah said, according to EgyptToday.com. "We have to fight, as you said, and I promise that we will do our best to show the world what we can do."

Salah sat out of training on Sunday in Grozny.
