Oman booked a seat in the semi-final of the Kuwait-hosted Gulf Cup Thursday after beating Saudi Arabia 2-0 at the conclusion of Group A matches.

Saudi player Khaled Abdulbaqi unwittingly deflected a rebounding ball, of a free kick by Oman player Saeed Al-Rezaqi, into his own net giving Oman its first goal in the match in the 58th minute.

Al-Rezaqi was not satisfied with that, he scored what was to prove the winner with a brilliant header in the left of the goalkeeper in the 78th minute.

With this win, Oman topped Group A with two victories and six points and qualified for the semi-final, but the Saudi team disqualified after coming third with only four points after the United Arab Emirate team that came second with five points.
