The Planning and Follow-up Committee of the Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) approved the participation of Oman teams in six disciplines at the fifth Asian Beach Games, scheduled to be held in Danang, Vietnam from September 24 to October 3. 

The panel met under the chairmanship of Sheikh Saif al Hosni, the OOC vice-chairman, and decided to send teams to compete in beach football, volleyball, handball, athletics, swimming and bodybuilding.

The committee also discussed participation of teams in Asian Youth Games in Singapore in 2017, Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2017 and the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2018. Also discussed was the participation in the first GCC Games for Juniors in Dubai in September.

Four OFA officials in AGCCFF committees

Four officials of the Oman Football Association (OFA) have been named into the various committees of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) at a meeting held in Doha, Qatar recently.

Saleh al Farsi, the OFA vice-chairman, who is a member of the AGCFF executive committee, has been made the chairman of the AGCFF finance committee.

Also Sheikh Shabib al Hosni, the Omantel Professional League (OPL) CEO, has been picked into the competitions committee and Sultan al Zadjali, the OFA CEO and general secretary, has been named into the marketing committee. Ibrahim Akhzami, OFA's legal advisor, has been made a member of the AGCFF legal committee.

The 23rd Gulf Cup will be held in Qatar from December 2017.
