The First Major Event Safety and Security Conference in Doha reflects that Qatar has been working hard to organize the best FIFA World Cup in 2022, Director of Public Security Staff Major-General Saad bin Jassim al Khulaifi has said.
Speaking while touring the exhibition accompanying the conference, Khulaifi said the huge global participation in the conference affirms the international acceptance and satisfaction of Qatar's hosting this important event and the confidence in its ability to organise the world's largest tournaments.
During the tour, he listened to explanations by the officials at the various pavilions and the participating bodies about the exhibits displayed, including those of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, which included models of the Qatari stadiums that will host the 2022 World Cup games.
In his statement, Khulaifi highlighted the support of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani for the conference.
He also noted the cooperation between the Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in planning the conference, praising the efforts of the two sides.
He said, during his meetings with many participating delegations, had noted the acceptance that Qatar is working seriously to organise a unique World Cup in 2022, adding that the country is striving at all levels in this regard, both in terms of projects related to the World Cup and in terms of security.
He stressed that all security services are fully prepared to secure the world championship.
