ALBAWABA - The New York Times reported on Tuesday that Iran had adapted how it attacked American military bases in the Middle East during the latest five days of attacks in June.
The U.S. Army was forced to use its already scarce supply of Patriot interceptors. During the attacks, Tehran was able to make a direct hit on American bases in the region, killing three soldiers in Jordan on July 17.
According to the NYT, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) used advanced missiles in June attacks that could suddenly change course, forcing the U.S. to use scarce interceptor missiles.

A statement was released by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on July 18, saying, "On July 17, two U.S. service members in Jordan were killed in action as CENTCOM and partner forces defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. Additionally, one service member is currently missing in action."
After the attack on a Jordan base, the country's Secretary of State Marco Rubio explained to the NYT, "We shot down almost all the missiles; one leaked through.”
The use of advanced missiles by Tehran caused a shortage in the U.S. stockpile of its defense missiles. According to the American newspaper, the Pentagon has fewer than 1,700 Patriot interceptors left.
