Italian international Daniele De Rossi has joined the likes of Robin Van Persie and Eden Hazard to snub a move to English champions Manchester City, after pledging his future with current club AS Roma.

Hazard chose instead to move to Chelsea while manager Roberto Mancini's top target Van Persie joined bitter rivals Manchester United instead.

Mancini was convinced the 30 million pound worth deal for De Rossi would go through by today, but the Roma star had different ideas.

"I'm staying here. I'm happy here and I have never, never, asked to leave. People have written all sorts of things, about me, about Mancini. Some of it makes me laugh, some of it makes me angry," The Sun quoted De Rossi, as saying.

"I decided to talk, but it wasn't my intention to talk about an offer from Manchester City. If I ever think about leaving, I'll come here in front of these microphones and speak, like a 30-year-old-man should do," he added.

"I always told the truth, even when we were talking about money, never hiding anything. For me it's important to say my piece. I am here at Roma, I'm happy and never asked to leave," he said. (ANI)
