Fresh reports have emerged regarding the ongoing contract renewal talks between Mohamed Salah and Liverpool. The Egyptian superstar’s current contract with the Reds is set to expire this summer.
Liverpool, under the management of Arne Slot, is currently leading both the Premier League and Champions League, following an impressive start to the season, with the team losing only once so far. Despite this, new information suggests that Salah is increasingly inclined to stay at Anfield this summer.
Salah Leaning Towards Contract Extension with Liverpool
According to "TEAMtalk" reports, it appears Salah is leaning towards extending his stay at Liverpool, with discussions of a two-year contract extension reportedly underway. Salah is said to be eager to remain with the club, as he focuses on his goal of winning a second Premier League title with the Reds.
One of the driving forces behind Salah’s decision to stay is his aspiration to win the Ballon d'Or, a major individual accolade that has so far eluded the 32-year-old, despite past nominations.
Liverpool’s Strong Desire to Retain Salah
Liverpool has made it clear they are keen on keeping Salah, despite his recent comments to the press following their win over Southampton. In November, Salah stated, "We're nearing December, and I haven’t received any offers to stay at the club. Perhaps it’s time for me to leave." He added, "I’ve been at this club for many years. There’s no club like this, but in the end, it’s not up to me. As I said, now in December, I haven’t received anything regarding my future."
With both sides reportedly eager to come to an agreement, Salah's future at Anfield remains a key point of focus as the season progresses.
