Tunisia coach Faouzi Benzarti says he will not temper much with the current squad he inherited from his predecessor Nabil Maaloul.
The former Esperance and Wydad Casablanca coach takes over a team that was at the Fifa World Cup in Russia, but failed to progress past the group stage.
Despite defeats by England and Belgium and an unconvincing win over Panama in Russia, Benzarti feels the current team should not change much.
“I cannot refuse when my country needs me,” said Benzarti while addressing his first press conference since his return.
“We will be working with an already strong team. I would be a fool to change such a great selection of players. Our first game will be in less than a month.”
A trip to Swaziland for an African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier next month would be tricky for Benzarti and his men, who would be facing the unpredictable Southern Africans.
With his predecessor Maaloul starting the road to Afcon brightly with a 1-0 home win over North African rivals Egypt last year, expectations on Benzarti cannot be underestimated.
