Tunisia's win against Panama was a "well-deserved victory" although both teams were eliminated from the World Cup after suffering two consecutive defeats in the first two matches, Tunisia's coach Nabil Maaloul said.
At a post-game news conference, Maaloul acknowledged their group was tough and it was difficult to achieve positive results.
"When we landed in this group we knew very well that our best hope would be to come third in this group. It is true that we conceded many goals but we conceded goals when we were met with very tough opponents," said Maaloul.
Panama coach Hernan Gomez failed to produce a win in the group stages and his team left the tournament without any points.
"This is the nature of the World Cup. There are highs and lows," he said.
Gomez said "We had two, actually three, very difficult teams with a lot of experience at this level."
