Lebanese singer Carol Samaha has revealed that she fears leaving her hotel room at the Production Media City in Cairo after the recent protests that broke out in Egypt. Carol had come to Egypt to film the scenes of her upcoming television drama “Al Shahroorah”, which is about the life of Lebanese diva Sabah.

On the fifth day of filming, protests had broken out throughout Egypt and a 6pm to 7am curfew was enforced leaving Carol and the cast and crew of the drama stuck in the studio. In addition the government turned off all internet access and mobile phone service gave them no communication to the outside world. The military was able to help escort Carol and the drama crew to return to the hotel safely.

Carol stated that she is waiting until conditions are stable to return to Lebanon immediately.
