Gulf singer Ibrahim Al Hakami has undergone a lap band/gastric bypass, which is an operation to tie the stomach making it smaller by putting a band or staples to reduce it size and help lose weight, at one of the hospitals in Jeddah Saudi. Since the operation, Ibrahim has so far lost 40 kilos.
According to the monthly magazine Sayidaty, Ibrahim stated that he was forced to make the decision and undergo the operation at this time due to the fact that he had become obese and his excessive weight was negatively affecting his health. The singer’s weight had reached 225 kilos and had begun loosing the ability to walk and became afraid of serious health complications that usually accompany excessive weight gain.
Previously, UAE singer Hussein Al Jasmi had undergone the same surgery and was able to lose all of his excessive weight and become fit.
