33 teams set to compete in Danube’s Cricket League 2011

A total of 33 teams are all set to see action in this year’s edition of the annual cricket league sponsored and organized by Danube, the leader in construction, building materials and shop fitting industries. The sporting event, which is set to open on June 3, 2011 at Insportz in Al Quoz, will feature teams composed of media partner, suppliers and business associates of Danube. Participating teams will be competing for attractive prizes like trophies, medals and other prize incentives offered by Danube to the leagues main event winner, main event runner up, plate event winner and plate event runner up.

Each team will compose of ten members consisting of eight playing members and two alternates. The league also requires each competing team to include two female players on their roster. Danube will provide the teams with essential cricket kits and T-shirts for the games. The league has been divided into two categories, main event and plate event. The event reflects the company’s strategic initiative to strengthen Danube’s relations with its employees, media contacts and affiliate corporate partners.

“Since cricket is in the air, Danube Cricket League 2011 is also prepared to see 33 teams to go into game mode and show off their cricket expertise and skills,” said Anis Sajan, Managing Director, Danube Building Materials. “This league allows us to spend a full day of camaraderie, good sports and good company with our associates. Aside from the cricket games, the event promises a fun filled day of family entertainment and activities with face painting sessions, clowns and cartoon character shows, cheer leaders, quizzes, games, DJs and music and a mini-concert.
