ALBAWABA - In a surprising revelation, military expert Samir Ragab shared insights into the ongoing battle between the Israeli aggression and Hamas resistance in Gaza. Ragab disclosed that Hamas forces have successfully inflicted significant losses on Israeli military assets, particularly the elite Golani Brigade, in the western and northwest areas of Gaza.
He highlighted the extraordinary tactics employed by Hamas, emphasizing that their fighters engage in suicidal combat from point negative zero. According to Rageb, this approach has led to the destruction of 84 armored vehicles, including various tanks, troop carriers, and engineering equipment, since the initiation of the ground incursion into parts of the strip.
A significant revelation from the military expert was the economic perspective of the conflict. Rageb detailed that the formidable Israeli Merkava tank, with a cost exceeding $11 million, is being systematically targeted and destroyed by Hamas forces using guided missiles that come at a remarkably low cost of around $500. The Merkava tank, known for its strength, is among the key military assets of the Israeli forces.

The missile pays homage to Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the revered founder of the Hamas movement, whose life was tragically cut short by an Israeli airstrike in 2004. Named after the iconic leader, Yassin 105 signifies a milestone in Palestinian weaponry.
Derived from Russian origins, the missile underwent meticulous enhancements by Palestinian engineers, elevating its capabilities to the extent of being able to neutralize the formidable Israeli Merkava tank. Initially designed for targeting military vehicles, Yassin 105 has evolved to effectively breach and destroy the heavily armored Merkava, showcasing an unprecedented level of sophistication.
Launched from a portable RPG launcher, Yassin 105 is an upgraded iteration of the Russian Tandem 85 missile. Notably, the Kassam Brigades first utilized the Tandem 85 during the "Operation Cast Lead" in 2009.
