ABB to build electricity substations in Alexandria

Egypt’s Electricity Transmission company has awarded a $10.2 million contract to ABB High Voltage Egypt, providing for the construction of a 66/11-kV, 75-MVA electricity substation in Sidi Bishr, Alexandria. Work is scheduled for completion by May 2003.  

 

Established in January 1993, ABB High Voltage Egypt operates a manufacturing facility in 10th of Ramadan City, producing high voltage switchgear as well as protection and control panels for substations of all voltage levels.  

 

The company is a subsidiary of the Swiss ABB International, a power and automation technologies provider. ABB serves customers in manufacturing, process and consumer industries, utilities, the oil and gas sector and infrastructure markets.  

 

ABB’s presence in Egypt includes ten companies, engaged in the engineering, manufacturing and services sectors. These companies employ over 2,000 permanent staff.
