The Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (Takreer) has agreed to provide the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Company (Adwec) with 300 megawatts of electric power. The contract follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two companies signed in 2000, reported WAM.
The power will be transported via a new power grid established by Adwec, Takreer and the Abu Dhabi Transmission and Dispatch Company (Transco). The system allows Takreer to import electric power if the need arises.
Takreer is a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, a state owned firm, incorporated in 1971, to operate in all areas of oil and gas industry. Takreer is active in the refining of crude oil and condensate, supply of petroleum products, production of chlorine and related chemicals, and sulphur granulation. — (menareport.com)
