The French transportation and energy infrastructure company Alstom has been awarded orders of three gas power plants in Bahrain, Australia and Malaysia, with a total worth of $749 million.
According to a press release on August 21, the gas plant in Bahrain is to be built in Al Hidd, and its total value is estimated at $350 million.
The three projects involve a total of seven GT13E2 gas turbines, which is a proven high reliability machine with low environmental emissions, utilizing the unique EV (EnVironmental) burner system. The GT13E2 fleet of over 60 operating units has achieved more than 1,000,000 fired hours.
In the energy sector, Alstom is active in power generation, power transmission & distribution and power conversion, whereas in transport it is involved in activities in rail and marine. Following the sale of its electrical contracting activity on July 20, Alstom has annual sales exceeding 22 billion euros ($24.06 billion) and employs 120,000 people in over 70 countries.
The company is listed on the Paris, London and New York stock exchanges. —(Mena Report)
