The Bahrain Ship Repairing and Engineering Company (Basrec) posted a 44 percent net profit increase in the first quarter of 2002, reaching 300,000 Bahraini dinars ($ 795,650), confirmed a bank statement. The company’s performance was attributed to an increase in revenues and a drop in operating expenses, allowing Basrec to post operating profits worth BD 140,759.
