Britain will help Algeria to plan and launch a microsatellite named ALSATI by the year 2002, the official APS news agency reported Saturday.
It said a cooperation protocol was signed here Saturday between Algeria's National Centre for Space Technology (CNTS) and the Surrey Space Centre in England. The Surrey centre will help the CNTS with small satellite technology and its applications, as well as setting up infrastructure connected with the use of a microsatellite.
A first phase of the cooperation will be devoted to training a small core of researchers and engineers in small satellite technology, APS said.
