ALBAWABA - Huawei Technologies, the Chinese multinational digital communications technology conglomerate corporation announced signing an agreement with BYD “Build Your Dreams;” the main automotive subsidiary and brand of BYD Company, a publicly listed Chinese multinational manufacturing company. Under this agreement, BYD will use Huawei’s advanced autonomous driving system in off-road electric vehicles under its ‘Fangchengbao’ range.
Bao 8 off-road SUV
BYD said Bao 8 off-road SUV, under its ‘Fangchengbao’ range, will be the first vehicle featuring Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 system and the car will be available for purchase in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The Bao 8 is expected to be released in the market with a price of approximately $70,180, competing with Great Wall Motor's Tank 700 Hi-4-T.
Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 system
It is worth noting that Huawei launched its advanced self-driving system ‘Qiankun’ in April 2024, featuring city NOA (Navigate on Autopilot).
Qiankun ADS 3.0 system uses safe and end-to-end network architecture to facilitate a human-like, safe, and efficient experience for drivers. According to Huawei, the system will enable cars to autonomously navigate parking, lanes, and gates.
BYD and Uber collaboration
On another hand, BYD and Uber announced an earlier partnership last month with Uber, the American multinational transportation company that provides ride-hailing services, courier services, food delivery, and freight transport. As per the agreement, BYD will provide around 100,000 electric cars to Uber drivers in Europe and Latin America, then expand to the Middle East, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
