ALBAWABA - Dubai Digital Authority announced the strategy implementation of AI-powered data centers in the country. This new revolution will increase centers’ capacity by 5 times and will enhance the country’s digital economy by AED 14.3 billion by 2028.
AI implementation in data centers
Dubai Digital Authority said the country will start implementing the strategy of AI-powered data centers with the aim of creating more job opportunities and highlight Dubai’s role as an incubator for data industry in the region.
Dubai’s Digital Strategy was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. The strategy aims to position the UAE as the leader of digital transformation globally and to elevate the country’s readiness for Web 3.0, Metaverse, smart cities, and the Internet of Things technologies.

Dubai Digital Authority is currently collaborating with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai Municipality, the Executive Council of Dubai, and the Department of Economy & Tourism to implement new measures for Dubai’s Digital Strategy.
Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of Digital Dubai, said: “The digital economy in Dubai is an essential pillar of Dubai’s digital strategy, which aims to increase its contribution to the emirate’s overall economy by $100 billion.”
Younus Al Nasser, Chief Executive of the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, commented: “With the ongoing global transformations, new economic patterns and business models are emerging, presenting future opportunities for dynamic economies like Dubai’s. The data center economy exemplifies these transformations.”
Dubai Digital Authority will ensure developing high-performance computing, enhance the use of liquid cooling systems, provide advanced data centers, and create a more sustainable cloud services in the country.
