Dubai Customs intercepts rare wildlife smuggling attempt under CITES rules

Dubai Customs has foiled an attempt to smuggle rare, endangered wildlife through Dubai International Airport as part of its ongoing efforts to enforce the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). The incident involved an Asian passenger arriving in the UAE, whose luggage was flagged during routine screening after inspection systems detected unusual contents.
