The Egyptian Central Bank estimated the value of total credit granted by the banking sector in the third quarter of 2001, from July to October, at 10.7 billion Egyptian Pounds (two billion dollars), reported Al-Sharq Al-Awsat . This figure translates into a 4.4 percent growth compared with the same quarter in the previous year.
