The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, Sameh Fahmi, estimates total confirmed gas reserves in Egypt at 55 trillion cubic feet, in addition to non-confirmed gas reserves of 65 trillion cubic feet, reported Al Hayat. Addressing a gas conference in the Mediterranean area, Fahni said that the local natural gas distribution network expanded to 4,000 kilometers. It supplied 17.8 million tons of natural gas last year, which constituted 45 percent of domestic natural gas consumption. — (menareport.com)
