The Chief Statistics Bureau reported that the value of Egyptian foreign exchanges hit 60.8 billion Egyptian Pounds ($13 billion) in the first 11 months of 2001, of which EP 14.9 billion were in exports and EP 45.9 billion were in imports, reported Al-Ahram. The same source added that the foreign trade deficit hit EP 31 billion during the first 11 months of 2001 compared with EP 29.7 billion in the corresponding period in 2000. — (menareport.com)
