ALBAWABA - Brazil is investigating Elon Musk's free speech comments. Musk had previously promised legal assistance to site visitors who were facing legal issues for expressing their ideas. Musk's free speech comments have prompted a legal probe.

Accounts belonging to persons suspected of spreading hate speech and fake news under the previous government's rule were to be closed, according to a recent judgment by Brazilian Supreme Court judge Alexandre de Moraes. X complied with the directive and blocked access to the designated accounts. But when Musk revealed his intentions to bring back the closed accounts, things got more heated.

Musk contests the ruling of the court

Musk publicly disputed the court's judgment, claiming the account closure request violated the constitution. He even demanded Judge Alexandre de Moraes' resignation. Musk was accused of impeding justice by the court, who began an investigation. X was also told to comply with the court order or face heavy daily fines.

Musk prioritized beliefs over money, despite the risk of losing business in Brazil and staff arrests. Twitter (X) plans to sue over the account suspension, indicating a court struggle.

Musk's backing for those accused of disseminating misinformation and hate speech on X during the previous government's time is questionable.
