Atlas Telecom, a leading provider of Intelligent and Secure Telecommunications Networks and Security Solutions in the GCC, today announced that its long-standing partner EmerGeo Software Solutions Middle East LLC has secured a strategic contract with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Abu Dhabi Police G.H.Q., to implement EmerGeo software. The software has already been used by the Abu Dhabi Police to support their emergency and crisis management work at the inaugural Yas Island Formula 1® race in early November, allowing the force to incorporate GIS (Geographic Information System) based security and emergency plans in support of their emergency response operations. The EmerGeo software was also used in the December 2009 FIFA Cup and the National Day Celebrations, and will increasingly be used in daily operations.

Mr. Ahmed Seddiq Al Mutawaa, Founder and President of Atlas Group of Companies said, “We are delighted that the Ministry of Interior has chosen EmerGeo for this important contract. The Abu Dhabi Police is showing great forward thinking in using a GIS based approach to emergency response planning, crisis management and preparedness. That EmerGeo software has been demonstrated to be robust and reliable in the demanding environments experienced by Abu Dhabi Police shows our faith in our trusted partner is well placed.

“As part of this contract, emergency plans are being reviewed and being integrated them into the EmerGeo Fusionpoint™ software, which will be used to link together several crisis management rooms in different police command and control centres throughout the Emirate. Many organisations around the world now recognise the need to have a system that not only tracks critical information but can also fuse data together from many existing systems into a simple, secure and configurable web dashboard.”

Atlas Telecom has long-standing partnerships and joint ventures with several international partners, including EmerGeo, EADS, Ultra Electronics, Marais Groupe and Harris. Such partnerships combine the local knowledge and international expertise of both parties to bring tangible benefits to customers and are a hallmark of the open and collaborative way Atlas companies operate.
