French firm to build groundwater demineralization facility in Algeria

Ondeo-Degremont, the water treatment division of Frence’s Lyonnaise Des Eaux (SUEZ), has won a 1.4 billion Algerian dinar ($17.6 million) contract to build a groundwater demineralization facility in Bredeah, Western Algeria, reported the North Africa Journal

 

The facility, which will include a demineralization plant and 25-kilometer long pipelines, is scheduled to commence operations in 2004. The French Development Agency (AFD) provided a loan to Algeria's Banque de l'Agricuture et du Developpement Rural (BADR) in order to finance the project.
