Habtoorland in Lebanon, a $80 million project developed by the UAE-based Al Habtoor Group, has decided to suspend all its expansion plans, Elie Tohme, park manager, told Khaleej Times.
Tohme said unexpectedly low visitor traffic due to the country's economic crisis in the wake of the slaying of Lebanon's former prime minister Rafik Hariri just a few month after the park's opening last December is responsible for the delay. The 107,000 square metre entertainment park has a guest capacity of some 2.9 million visitors per annum.
