The government of Iran will begin issuing 72-hour entry visas to foreign businessmen and investors entering the country through the Shiraz Airport, confirmed the Bureau for Alien and Foreign Immigrant Affairs (BAFIA) in the Fars province.
Iranian firms wishing to host foreign business associates can apply for a visa 48 hours prior to the arrival of their visitors by submitting an application to the Foreign Affairs Office. If visitors need to stay longer than 72 hours a longer stay may be issued.
The Iranian government decided earlier this year to reinstate entry visa requirements on citizens of the six states making up the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) after two years of implementing facilitated entry procedures into the country, reported IRNA.
The regulations were reinstated as part of Iranian efforts to block the entrance of persons suspected of membership in the Al-Qaida or Taliban organizations under false identities. — (menareport.com)
