Iraq’s oil exports rose to 2.6 million barrels per day (mbpd) on average in September, the highest in more than three decades, compared to 2.565 mbpd in August, an Iraqi oil ministry spokesman said.
Exports from Basra in the south were 2.18 mbpd in August, while shipments from northern Kirkuk were 420,000 bpd, including around 10,000 bpd taken by truck through Jordan, Asim Jihad said. Iraq’s September exports reached the highest level since 1979 when the Opec member’s exports hit 3.244 mbpd, an oil ministry document showed.
