Jordanian Treasury Minister Michele Marto projected that the Jordanian budget deficit ratio for the year 2002 would be equivalent to 6.5 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), reported Al-Watan. Thus, the projected budget deficit ratio in 2002 is to be one percent below the deficit ratio recorded in 2001. The Minister also forecasted that the Jordanian economy would record a four percent growth rate in 2002. — (menareport.com)
