A recently publicized report by the Association of Banks in Lebanon has indicated that the licensed areas for building amounted to 823,305 square meters in August 2005 compared with 750,276 square meters in August 2004.
The same source added that the total licensed building areas withdrew by 9% in the first nine months of 2005 compared with the same period last year.
