A Maltese-Libyan conference will take place in Malta on March 8 to March 9. The event is organized by the Malta-Libya Chamber of Commerce, headed by Anthony Micallef.

The conference is aimed at fostering economic relations between the two sides. It should be mentioned that Malta and Libya maintained fruitful business relations before the imposition of international sanctions on Libya. However, the international embargo had damaged to some extent the trade activity  between the two countries. Following the reopening of Libya to the world it seems that Maltese businessmen will again have an important role in exploring business opportunities.

One of the businessmen, who have businesses both in Libya and Malta is Faraj Nitfe. His Benghazi-based firm is specialized in water and electricity contracting.
