ALBAWABA – Elon Musk, the American entrepreneur best known for leading Tesla, SpaceX, xAI, The Boring Company, and X, has announced the launch of Starlink services in Oman. Oman, located on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula, borders the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Oman, and Persian Gulf, situated between Yemen and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Space Exploration Technologies Corp., commonly known as SpaceX, will launch its Starlink services in the Gulf region, specifically in Oman.

Notably, Starlink is a satellite internet constellation operated by Starlink Services, LLC, an international telecommunications provider and subsidiary of SpaceX. The company currently provides coverage to over 100 countries and territories.

According to the Oman News Agency, Starlink has been approved by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. Starlink Oman will provide broadband internet services in the country through satellite communication systems.

Starlink Muscat, the new service provider in Oman, will offer internet and telecommunications services across the country, with speeds exceeding 100 megabits per second.

With this launch, Oman aims to boost various sectors, including oil and gas, mining, tourism, and agriculture.
